COME JOIN US FOR: LUNCH DATES WITH HISTORY. This 2017 LECTURE SERIES will be held monthly at the HCHS museum.
The Museum of Howard County History is proud to host a series of lectures for 2017. Bring your own lunch. Drinks and treats will be provided. Tickets are Free for HCHS Members and only $5 for non-members. Doors open at 11:30am. Each lecture runs noon-1:00 pm followed by an optional tour of the museum 1:00-1:30 pm. “Howard County Underground Stations for the Civil War” will be presented by Paulette Lutz.
Paulette Lutz is a Board member for the Howard County Historical Society and chief researcher for the National Park Service Network Underground Railroad Signage for Howard County sites. She will discuss her research and share some local stories of those who fled from slavery.

The unexpected and devastating flood of July 30, 2016 forever changed the lives of residents and the landscape of Ellicott City. Join us, now six months later, as James Robey, head of the county’s Historic Ellicott City Flood Workgroup, presents the progress, challenges, and perspectives impacting the rebuilding a sustainable, as well as historic city.
Tasty refreshments, interesting action groups, and environmental information tables, will complement the afternoon program. Childcare for infants and toddlers provided.
