The Judge’s Bench hosts the area’s only Jazz Jam. If you are a jazz player, come sit in with the hosting trio. Welcoming all jazz players, horns, sax, singers, rhythm instruments or others.  Just come by during the jam session and let them know you’d like to join. They’ll be playing mostly standards from the Real Books. If you’ve got your own chart, please bring copies for the band.

The lectures are held at the Howard County Historical Society’s Museum. Bring your own lunch – with drinks and treats provided – and enjoy a lecture focusing on historical facts and more in Howard County.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Lecture is from noon-1 p.m. with an optional tour of the museum from 1-1:30 p.m. Cost is free for HCHS members and  $5 for non-members.

Clark’s Elioak Farm will be hosting a 60th Birthday Celebration for the Enchanted Forest on the anniversary of the August 15th opening of the Enchanted Forest in 1955.  The celebration weekend will be August 15-16, 2015.  There will be a ribbon-cutting for the White Castle at the entrance to Enchanted Pine Tree Forest at Clark’s Elioak Farm on Saturday, August 15.

Wine and cheese are two of life’s finest pleasures – and nothing goes better with wine than goats!! Come enjoy Wine & 'Animal Friendly' Cheese Tasting at this month’s Open house. Join us at either 1pm or 2pm for our monthly Farm Tours led by our wonderful volunteer tour guide and event coordinator, Rissa Miller. Then join us on the lawn and in the wine cellar to sample outstanding wines and a variety of dairy-free cheese, jams and other delights. Grape juice is available for children or adults who prefer not to drink. Feel free to pack a picnic of any other tasty treats you wish to enjoy and also to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

Our normal Farm Tours (at 1pm and 2pm) will also run and are included in the ticket price: $15 for juice and cheese, $20 for wine and cheese. The Burleigh Manor gift shop is always open during our Open Houses, so you will have the opportunity to purchase one of awesome Burleigh Manor T-shirts, a notebook, or even some handmade quince jelly.
