The Ellicott City Restoration Foundation, Inc. announces its new Literary Pub Crawl in the Ellicott City Historic District. Tours will be given the first Thursday of each month.

The Ellicott City Restoration Foundation, Inc. is celebrating its 30th anniversary by establishing a Literary Pub Crawl to raise funds for its programs. Those on the tour will follow a time line of Ellicott City and the Patapsco River Valley that will feature Native Americans, the Ellicott’s themselves and even Davy Crocket & Edgar Allan Poe. The tour, which will be offered the first Thursday of each month, will last about 2 hours and begins at The Diamondback Tavern on Old Columbia Pike in the historic district at 7:00PM. Tour goers will have the opportunity to purchase a drink at any of the stops along the way. Other stops will include Portalli’s, The Rumor Mill and Tersiguel’s . Cost for the tour will be $10.00 per person (drinks not included) and the regularly scheduled tour will be open to those 21 and over. Private tours for those of any age will be available at any time (10 person minimum). There will also be regularly scheduled any age tours; those dates will be announced later. Reservations are required and can be made by email at ecrfpres@aol.com or 410-247-9252. Payment is made the night of the tour by cash or check, which would be made payable to ECRF.

Just why was Davey Crockett so unhappy during his brief time here? Why did Henry Clay leave the town’s residents’ with their mouths agape? Was the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow really from The Patapsco River Valley?
