On Saturday, August 20th the Ellicott City Business Association (ECBA) of Historic Ellicott City, Main Street , will host "A Dog's Day in Ellicott City ".
This fun filled afternoon will include the first ever "Pet-Owner Dress Alike Contest followed by "The Best Bandana Contest". Contests will begin at 1:30 pm and take place at the B&O Plaza in front of the Ellicott City B&O Station Rail Road Museum , on the corner of Main Street and Maryland Avenue .
Contest registration will be held the day of the event between 11:00 am- 1:15 pm at The Yuppy Puppy Pet Boutique located at 8120 Main in Historic Ellicott City. Contestants are asked to pay a $5.00 registration fee which will be donated to The Howard County Animal Control. Each contestant will receive a complimentary treat from The Baltimore Dog Bakery. Winners of the event will receive fabulous prizes including gift certificates.
On behalf of The Howard Animal Control, Animal Advocates will be conducting pet adoptions from Pet Pals, Inc. located above The Yuppy Puppy Pet Boutique. Pet adoptions will begin at 2:30 pm .
Pet experts such as a pet acupuncturist and animal communicator will be in town to share their knowledge. Additionally, the merchant's of Main Street will be having their Annual Side Walk Sale.
