The Wendels purchased The Ellicott City Copy Center in April, 1991. Times have changed, merchants have come and gone, but we remain. When we came to Main Street, faxes were just coming into the business world and we did our share of them. We still do. In the early days we did plenty of business cards and flyers. We still do. We began printing newsletters right at the start and they have been our bread and butter jobs ever since.

Two old Xerox monstrosities, a sharp copier, one brother color copier, several little self- serve copiers and a large format engineering machine filled our shop then. Now we print mostly over the internet onto our Konica Minoltas and Bizhub color copiers. Our copies look great. We have had some of the same newsletter customers for many years. I think our oldest newsletter is the Sitzmark for the local ski club. Each month we receive the editor’s copy and print, fold and mail it to the members. We also print two different Knights of Columbus newsletters and in those cases we run the mailing labels through Sartori software which bar codes them. This process allows the mailings to be totally automated and a good savings of money and time for the Knights.

Some of you may think that Irish Wonders has replaced the Copy Center but it is rather an addition to the many other services we do. We were able to buy the building in 2002 and redid the building from stem to stern, adding a deck with fountain that is available for hourly rental, second floor offices with internet service and many other improvements. When we bought the building we also purchased a connected hp design jet which can print large color copies.

A list of all our services is attached. Woman-owned and focused on serving, the Ellicott City Copy Center prints menus, proposals, books, flyers, wills, taxes. and anything else "fit to print."

Now that the Post Office on Main Street is closed, please consider using the Center’s Mail Boxes They are a good value at $10.00 per month for small and $12.00 for medium sized boxes (minimum of 3 months) with 24 hour access and UPS and Fed Ex deliveries included.

The years have passed quickly. When Dan and I came here, we had 5 children at home. Now that our children are all married, I have more time to devote to my work.
