In 2001 we took over an existing coffeehouse on Main Street. We (the husband and wife team of Sarah Tanenbaum (Pastry Chef) and Desmond Vogler (Bread Baker) along with our son, Jonah, then age 2) soon realized it would require a complete business overhaul to reflect our needs. As vegetarians, foodies and new parents we had longed for a scratch bakery/vegetarian cafe where we could get amazingly delicious upscale food and drinks, but feel relaxed and comfortable with both our friends and our children. With this goal in mind we created our business, piece by piece. And here we are, seven years later in a beautiful new space, with three beautiful children ( Jonah (9) Gabriel (5) and Evangeline (2) ) to share our adventure.
